It was released on September 17, 1996, as the seventh track off their second studio album, Ænima. Thanks for Tool Drive Project, this fan base is nuts.to think about how many records are there and how many good quality stuff you can find, I hope you like it!įrom a Tool fan to all of you Tool fans, much love and stay safe."Hooker with a Penis" is a song by the American rock band Tool.
Also as a bass player and audiophile myself you will be punched hard in the face with the overall quality of Justin's bass sound, there are some songs that I think the taper/record guy must have been so close that if Justin farted I would be able to listen to it.Ī couple of extra info that I think you Tool heads will appreciate (warning, long post ahead):ġ - From the Ænima live album, the extended Stinkfist in this one is from 1997, they were already jamming that extended bridge towards the end of the song but here it's an early version of that jam! And we can see how it changed comparing to these last years, especially Justin bassline on this early jam is nasty afĢ - Again from Ænima, the Pushit version here is very similar to the Salival one but it's from a different show, the initial speech Maynard gives is very similar but he sounds way different here, also Danny's tabla teacher is not present here so this version is way less tabla-mindfuckery than the Salival oneģ - There is a Peach cover (Spasm) after Hooker with a Penis since I was not able to find a good Jimmy live version (they barely played from what I have seem) and this cover is very coolĤ - From Lateralus, There is a different No Quarter cover that Justin does a lot of different stuff than the Salival version, way more groovy and the middle section is different, totally worth it!ĥ - From Lateralus, Opiate because the extended bridge is really beautiful, I hope they transform that piece in a song somedayĦ - From Lateralus, An early Descending jam in-between songsħ - On the 10.000 days Live there is a 5m version of the Flood after Right in Two and I really wanted to share this cool Lateralus version that I found, this version was played when they toured with Isis back in 2007 so this Lateralus version is a 15m song with the guys from Isis joining them and jamming at the middle of the song.Ĩ - Last but not least for everyone that downloaded the Lateralus album yesterday please redownload using the Lateralus live folder from the link I posted here because I swapped The patient and parabol/parabola for even better versions.ġ0 - Lateralus 13:54 (this vesion is a fucking masterpiece)Ħ - Rosetta Stoned (with Lost Keys) 15:12 Of course you cannot compare with the original material but grab a good pair of headphones or a good surround sound system and give these bootlegs a chance, you will be suprised, 100% guaranteed.
The main purpose of this daunting task was to find good quality live versions, the best I could find.and boy there is some really good quality stuff here, since they are all flac and with good EQ they make the live stuff on youtube pretty much obsolete if you want to listen some live stuff from Tool. Joints were smoked, extended versions were found, little variations of some riffs uncovered and special guests included.
Yesterday I posted a Lateralus live experience based on a heavy scavenging through Tool Drive Project for a couple hours.
